Old Skirt into New Dress

I used a tutorial over at  Made By Lex to turn an old skirt that was too big and a $5 tee into a new dress! I made mine a bit differently because I already had the skirt.
I took in the sides and waistband of the skirt so it could fit at my waist. I also altered it to be more fitted because it was an A-line skirt. I attached it to the tee and inserted wide elastic into the waistband. I also made my own button strip to go over the ruffles.
I love turning old items into new items... not to mention it hardly cost me anything.
I found my receipt and here's what I bought:
  • Four buttons- $1.95
  • Black T-shirt from the fabulous Fahion-Q ;) - $5.00
  • Wide elastic- $0.89
  • Some purple/grey chiffon for the bib- $1.00
(Joann's coupons factored in) And Voila! A new sophisticated and fun dress for under ten dollars!
